The following is a brief overview of the steps you will need to take to complete this webquest. Look under your role name for more detailed instruction.
1. You will be assigned a group. Once in your groups, assign a role to each person in the group: the mitochondria, the nucleus, the golgi, the ribosomes, and the vacuole.
2. Each group will receive either plant or animal cell and will also receive the different parts of the cell the group has to research. Within the group, divide up the parts and make sure each member is researching their role. Ex: If I am the mitochondria I will research the mitochondria and the other parts I chose to research. Here is the link to the worksheet you will need for this part.

3. When you have finished researching the parts and their functions, come back together and share the information with your group.
4. As a group decide what the important aspects of each part of the cell is and it's function. After analyzing your information, decide as a group how to synthesize it in order to plan a creative presentation. You will have 5 finished products: 1) Prezi presentation 2) Glog 3) 2-3 Diagrams 4) an Animoto, and a 5) SmartBoard activity. You will put the Glog, the diagrams, the Animoto, and the SmartBoard activity within the Prezi presentation. So in the end all of your products are one Prezi presentation.5. Begin your Glog.6. Begin your Diagrams.7. Begin your Animoto.8. Begin your SmartBoard activity.9. Collaborate your projects into a Prezi presentation.
Researching SitesI have provided some sites that I believe will be helpful in researching your cell parts and their functions. Click on the animals pictures for the animal cell sites and the plant pictures for the plant sites.

Mitochondria

You are in charge of creating the Glog part of the assignment. You have to research the Mitochondria and the other terms you decided to research. You have to make one Glog poster for all of the cell parts you have researched. You should have the mitochondria on it along with the other parts you have researched. Click on the picture of the Mitochondria above to go to the Glog website. When you reach the website follow the instructions below.
1. Click on the teacher account and set up a free trial for yourself.
2. You are then going to create a glog poster of the different cell parts and functions that you researched.
3. On your glog poster you have to have these requirements:A. A graphic for each cell part and describe its function within the cell.B. At least 3 other graphics to go along with your pictures.C. A titleD. Use 2-3 of their graphics with your text over them4. Click on the picture below for an example of a Glog.

Golgi

You are in charge of creating 2-3 diagrams about your parts of the cell and their functions that you have researched. I have provided the graph you will use to fill in your information. Just click on the Golgi picture above to go to the graph. In your graph you will put the cell part in the middle circle. You will do a graph for each of your cell parts that you have researched. You will then include this information in the other circles:1. Location of the part within the cell2. What it looks like3. It's Function4. Interesting Fact
Ribosomes

You are in charge of creating an Animoto about the parts of the cell and their functions that you have researched.Click on the picture above to go to the Animoto site. Click on the picture below to see an example of an Animoto.Follow the instructions down below:
1. Click log in and use this information to get into the account.email: gina.shelley@yahoo.comPW: shelley1
2. You then click "Create" at the top right of the corner.
3. Choose your style.
4. Create your videoRequirements:A. Include 3-4 text boxes
B. Include at least 7 pictures.
C. Include a graphic for each cell part and use text for it's function.
D. Have Fun

Vacuole

You are in charge of creating a short Smartboard activity on your cell parts and their functions. You only have to do your Smartboard on the parts you researched.
If you click on the picture above it will take you to a Smartboard example. In your Smartboard you are required:
A. Have each of your parts of your cell and their function
B. One interactive multimedia template
C. Two items from the "Lesson Activity Toolkit"
D. Use a theme background.
E. Use a variety of colors and fonts
F. Have numerous graphics and sounds
G. Have a minimal of 6 slides

Nucleus
external image images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSem7k8COaznnhMmSjLCl8JfTqdDFKk8BgiZq4o-4J7khMFNMeG
You are in charge of creating a Prezi and including everyone's projects within the Prezi. You have to research your parts and put them on a slide within your Prezi. Each part should have it's own slide. If you click on the Nucleus picture above you can see an example of a Prezi. When you are finished with your Prezi, you and your group have to discuss your presentation.
Your Prezi includes:
A. Minimum of 10 slides
B. Title & Reference Pages
C. Every part of the cell covered
D. Each Project on it's own slide
E. Graphics on each slide
F. Use of multiple fonts and colors
